Round 5 opened for enrollment in the summer of 2024 and closed that October. The cohort trained online through the winter and travelled to Peru in February 2025, arriving in El Carmen in time for the Yunza Negra on the first of March.
Alongside the dance training came cajón — learning to feel the rhythm from inside the instrument before carrying it in the body. By the time this round closed, five cohorts had made the journey.
